"LOVE MISSED"

Running on the beach with kites...tying them to our big toe so we could lay in the sun...
Do you remember?
You, not knowing your way around town, getting us to the beach that night just to watch the ocean and gaze in amazement at the stars because you knew we needed it...
Do you remember?
Do you remember how you used to tell me you loved me so much that you never wanted to hurt me or make me sad?
Do you remember?
I do.

"THREE WISHES"

If I had three wishes, what would they be?
The first one, I would ask, "Jesus, will you bring my Mother back to me?"
If I had three wishes, what would they be?
The second one, I would ask, "Lord, please set my body free?"
If I had three wishes, what would they be?
The third one, I would ask, "God, let my love, love me?"
And then, I would add, in a timid sort of way, "May I have some more?
So I could set all wrong free? For there is much to make aright and I need more than three..."

"PIRATE TIME"

It seems like a million miles away (but who's counting) since I last saw you.
Maybe because we said our last goodbye so abruptly.
Now I pass through the days, crowding myself in a hole...only to look out and see our eyes drifting away.
I wish I were the wind...then I could carry you through time and still let you be free.

"SHADOW OF A SMILE"

The other day, in my life, the sun decided to dawn.
Sweet memories, good times and great happiness came back to me.
It seems like a long time, since there was something to wake for, an excitement has returned to the air.
I must be careful, so as not to get drowned in, past thoughts that were all so fair while times to think of, fill my head, instead of the gloom which was there.
Even though the ecstasy is apprehensive I feel as though it's been awhile since feeling the warmth of running a mile and wearing the Shadow of a Smile.
