Being human equals errors
That are sometimes made
Not always on purpose
Oftimes from being afraid

Anxious to get things right
Fear of the unknown
Hiding many doubts of self
Trying to not let them be shown

Simply wanting to do
For everyone; for a few
Leaves others wondering
Not thinking of a clue

What could be wrong
But jumping to conclusions
Grasping at straws
Or optical illusions

A person can also hurt
And never cry aloud
But look for their rock
To crawl away from the crowd

Knowing where I am
Yet, sometimes feeling lost
Not able to be heard
Appearing as a ghost

My light tries but falls short
Not glowing enough bright
In order to get my intentions
Understood and just right

It is then that there is gray
No black, No white
No night, No day
I stand alone, yet surrounded
Only a Bookmark in the Dark.
